Allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA)
Presentation :
- Primarily seen in patients with cystic fibrosis and occasionally in those with asthma
Pathophysiology :
- Hypersensitivity to Aspergillus species colonizing the respiratory tract
Diagnostic Testing:
Treatment :
- Systemic glucocorticoids are the mainstay of treatment (sometimes supplemented by antifungal therapy with an azole).
